U.S. Small Business Administration
A basic course on how to start a small business and business planning for the new business owner.

U.S. Department of Commerce/MDBA
​A  website for minority businesses, or other small businesses, i.e.,  definitions of an employee versus a contractor working for you.

  1. National Minority Suppliers Development Council
    ​Providing  a direct link between corporate America and minority-owned businesses  is the primary objective of the National Minority Supplier Development  Council, one of the country's leading business membership  organizations. 
  2. Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council
    The  Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council (NWMSDC) is  the regional affiliate of the non-profit National Minority Supplier  Development Council (NWMSDC). Through a nationwide network, the goal of  our organization is to provide a direct link between corporate America,  public agencies and minority-owned business across the United States. 
  3. Craft3
    Craft3  is a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI)  lender with a mission to strengthen economic, ecological and family  resilience in Pacific Northwest communities. 
  4. Tabor 100
    Tabor  100 is an association of entrepreneurs and business advocates who are  committed to economic power, educations excellence, and social equity  for African-Americans and the community at large. 
  5. National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development
    Founded  in 1969, the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development  (NCAIED) is the first national non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation created  and directed by American Indians, solely dedicated to developing  American Indian economic self-sufficiency through business ownership.
  6. Business Impact Northwest
    Community  Capital Development has provided entrepreneurs Access to Capital and  Access to Business Assistance since 1997. Our primary financial products  are term loans, or small business loans. Our non-SBA term loans range  from $5,000 to $100,000, while SBA guaranteed term loans can be up to  $250,000.
  7. Women Business Enterprise National Council
    WBENC  is the nation's leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers  to America's corporations. It also is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States. Click here for Pacific (Seattle) Chapter!
  8. National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC)
    ​Through  a network of local chapters and in collaboration with strategic and  corporate partnerships, NAMC assists members with building capacity by  providing access to opportunity, advocacy, and contractor development  training.
  9. The Breakfast Group
    ​The  Breakfast Group is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization of civic minded  professional African-American men dedicated to mentoring and addressing  the challenges of at-risk youth of color focusing on black males.   Established in 1976, it is the oldest (non-fraternity) all male  African-American organization in the Northwest United States. 
  10. Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO)
    COMTO's  membership includes individuals, groups, transportation agencies,  private sector corporations, non-profit organizations, and Historically  Underutilized Businesses (HUBs), representing professionals at all  levels within all modes of transportation. 
  11. Society of American Military Engineers (SAME): The  Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) leads collaborative  efforts to identify and resolve national security infrastructure-related  challenges.
  12. Washington Minority Business Development Agency (Located in Tacoma, WA): Washington MBDA Business Center serves the whole state of Washington to help established minority business enterprises owned by the following individuals or groups: African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian and Pacific Islander Americans, Native Americans, Asian Indian Americans and Hasidic Jewish Americans.
  13. Airport Minority Advisory Council - The Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) is the only national,  non-profit trade association dedicated to advancing the full  participation of minorities and women in employment and contracting  opportunities throughout the aviation and aerospace industries.
  14. Front and Centered - Front and Centered is a diverse and powerful coalition of communities of color-led groups across  Washington State, whose missions and work come together at the  intersection of equity, environmental and climate justice. Coalition  membership means community groups believe in the principles and values  upon which Front and Centered was founded.
